Konrad Wiszniewski | Back
Tenor Saxophone

Born in Glasgow in 1980, Konrad Wiszniewski developed an enthusiasm for the saxophone and for jazz at an early age, and became a student at the Scottish National Jazz Institute in 1995, moving on to the University of Strathclyde to study Applied Music, and then topping off his jazz education with a year at the Berklee College of Music, where his tutors included Joe Lovano.

His big tone and fluent musical imagination have made him one of the busiest saxophonists in Scotland, working with his own quartet and a number of other bands, including Brass Jaw, the Paul Towndrow Sextet, and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra. He has also developed a real flair as a composer and arranger, and has contributed original material to virtually all of the bands with which he plays.
