Mark Holub | Back

Born in New York in 1981, Mark Holub was already playing drums around the city in his mid-teens, crossing the boundaries between rock, jazz and free improv. In 2000 he came to the UK to study at Leeds College of Music, and subsequently moved to London to further hone his style with drummers Martin France and Paul Clarvis.

It was during his early London days that he began to develop his ideas for a maverick jazz-cum-rock band that in December 2004 came to fruition as the quintet Led Bib, with a membership that has stayed constant through to 2011. While this remains his main musical outlet, he is also a member of many other London-based bands, as well as teaching and curating community festivals.
