Zoe Rahman | Back

Born in Chichester of Bangladeshi parents, Zoe Rahman studied at Oxford University and the Berklee College of Music before bursting on the UK jazz scene as one of the most exciting young pianists for years. Now firmly established amongst the most distinctive players in Europe, her 2006 album 'Melting Pot' was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, and was voted 'Album of the Year' at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards, and in 2012 she was voted 'Best Jazz Act' at the MOBO Awards. As well as leading her own trio, she is a much sought after player in other bands, working and touring with the likes of Courtney Pine, James Carter, and Jerry Dammers' Spatial AKA Orchestra.
